Doctor Who breaks out on Nintendo next month

Having branched out on PC in Doctor Who: The Adventure Games, now the Doctor and Amy are set to make their way into two new adventures, this time on Nintendo platforms. Next month, Evacuation Earth will arrive on the handheld DS, while Return to Earth is launched on the Wii console.

Little has been revealed about either game so far, but Evacuation Earth promises to include over 100 different puzzles and 60 locations to explore as the Doctor and Amy Pond (based on current TV actors Matt Smith and Karen Gillan) must try to recover the TARDIS after a solar storm. The Wii's Return to Earth blends action into its puzzle-solving (though to what degree is still unclear), and promises at least two minigames that make use of the motion-based Wii controls to simulate a Gravity Gun and Sonic Screwdriver.

Both games are developed by Asylum Entertainment, and each is currently targeting a release date of November 12th. The two games are not different versions of the same game, however, but completely different adventures from start to finish.
