Little look at The Next BIG Thing in first teaser

We haven't heard too much yet about The Next BIG Thing, but with today's release of the first teaser, we now have our first little look at the new adventure from Pendulo Studios.

With the Runaway trilogy now complete, Pendulo has turned its sights to a new pair of protagonists, Dan Murray and Liz Allaire for its latest comic offering. The teaser introduces the two new heroes (Liz not at her best) and a few of the other oddball characters we'll meet in the game, both human and non-human alike.

While an actual release date for The Next BIG Thing is still uncertain, the game is now scheduled for completion some time in the first quarter of 2011.

I agree with After a brisk nap. Hopefully the characters in this new game aren’t as mindboggingly stupid as Brian was. Oh, and the staircase reminded me a lot of the Gallery in Uru.

I’m a fan, i love the graphics and puzzles of the Runaway series. I love it when i’m stranded for a couple of days unlike other adventure games where it’s point click solved. Anyways, aliens is a def a plus:)

Can’t wait for this one ... like all 3 Runaway’s I hope to fint this one enjoyable as well

I hated Runaway 1 with enough passion to keep me away from the rest of the series (and Pendulo’s earlier Igor: Objective Uikokahonia was also unpleasant), but to me this trailer almost makes me consider giving them another chance.

I agree with Assaf.
I’m actually surprised how many people disliked the third one. I thought it was the best! The first game was the most boring to play imo (although a good game). I can’t wait to see what Pendulo’s up to next - I doubt it will be anything but entertaining.

Hi guys,
Not sure what to make of it, didn’t really see enough of the game to make my decission about how good or bad it would be, think it’s far too early yet.
As for the Runaway debate, I LOVED Runaway 1 and 2 and thought 3 was real cool, but didn’t like the way it tried to throw away the entire plotline developed in Runaway 2, sort of seemed a bit of a shame and made you question all the back story I thought.
Also, I HATED the new voices!! They seemed really weird on charecters we grew to love. I hate it when they take an astablished charecter and change the voice, I mean can anyone imagine George Stobart or Guybrush with a different voice?

I have to say I’m excited about it. I can understand people being a little skeptical, but I don’t think Pendulo have been so bad as to give up on them. Will be watching updates closely Smile

really guys? runaway 3 disappointing? it’s actually my favorite of the three.

it was short, but i found it funnier and funner than the previous two. also less tiresome (runaway 2 dragged way too long), and just more enjoyable in the bottom line.

i was really happy to play it and sad to see it end - a thing i cannot say about runaway 1 and 2. although they were ofcourse beautiful, they simply weren’t such great games. runaway 3 pretty much nailed it imo so i’m excited to see what pendulo will do next, although this trailer says nothing.

I was hoping that they’d learn from their mistakes and make this one better. Well hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.

I love the new Focus logo!
As for the game, I agree with MoonBird. Runaway 3 was disapointing and this teaser’s not all that promising either

This doesn’t appeal to me. Runaway 1 was fantastic game, second installment was ok, but the Twist of Fate was rubbish. And this teaser was enough to be sure that the downhill of Pendulo Studios is all but enging.
