Trailer heralds approaching release of The Whispered World

You've seen (and probably drooled at) the lovely screenshots, but with today's release of the first English trailer for The Whispered World, now you can see the game for the first time in action.

The highly-anticipated fantasy adventure from Daedalic tells the story of a young clown named Sadwick. Rather than entertaining circus folk, however, Sadwick has a vision that foretells the end of the world – an end that he himself will be integrally responsible for bringing about. To stop this prophecy from coming true, Sadwick and his skill-adapting pet caterpillar Spot must set out on a journey into the Autumn Forest and beyond to face whatever obstacles and dangers await them.

The trailer displays several of the beautiful hand-drawn locations, from deep underground to high above the clouds, introducing the main characters and several of the strange creatures the protagonists will encounter in their travels.

The Whispered World is due for for release next month in both the UK and North America.

The trailer reminds me of 80s cartoon.

It looks promising.
A bit disappointed with the in game animations tough, they look very choppy.
Looks like they spent all the animation budget on the cutscenes.
The voices will probably grow in you when playing I think.

Ah, the we-already-hate-your-game attitude in full swing. I have played the game in German and loved it. (BTW, Machinarium was developed by Amanita Design, not by Daedalic.) I don’t think it’s a good trailer though. It contains spoilers and wonderful little Spot doesn’t get the attention he deserves.

I don’t like what is see. I expected something like Machinarium. I am sceptical about buying it.

Yeah - not thrilled with the voices - but I want to wait and see.  Do like the animation style though.

This game has been in the making for soooo long. It’s great to see that it’s finally coming out after all the stuff in the beginning like the Bad Brain publishing deal.

The graphics look just wonderful, but I still have a feeling like this will end up like Gilbert Goodmate. A game with amazingly beautiful graphics, but with not that good voice acting or animation of characters. I can’t say anything about the german version, but the english version sounds like budget release by listening to the voices.

Nah! The trailer is boooring! The narrator is drooling over cliches with zero excitement. The main character’s voice put me to sleep. In the words of one of the supportive characters: “Very funny!” (pun intended).

Well, at least the animation is pleasantly old school with Japanese manga elements, which gives a glitter of hope for this title. We’ll see!

hmm, from the few tidbits of Sadwicks voice-actor, I must say I really like the german one more. But well, hopefully there will be a demo so I can check it out fully. Looking forward to it!
