Labyrinth of Time, Secret of the Lost Cavern ring in on iPhone

That rumbling sound in the background may just be the hard-charging iPhone and iPod Touch catching up to the PC as popular adventure game platforms these days. Or maybe it's just a new ringtone, but in any case, two more adventures have been given mobile ports recently, as Labyrinth of Time and Secret of the Lost Cavern: Episode 1 are both now available for purchase.

Wyrmkeep's Labyrinth of Time has been around since 1993, though an updated version was released for PC more than a decade later. In this first-person puzzler, players are dropped into a wondrous labyrinth able to bridge time and space, created to let the legendary King Minos rule the world. Only by navigating its winding hallways and venturing through doorways into all eras of history will you be able to manipulate the fabric of time itself and destroy the labyrinth for good.

Secret of the Lost Cavern may sound like a new game, but really it's an episodic repackaging (minus the package) of Kheops Studio's Echo: Secret of the Lost Cavern. The four part series is scheduled to release monthly until completion, telling the prehistoric story of a young painter named Arok. Set 15,000 years B.C., Arok ventures out to follow his old mentor on a quest to become a member of the Lascaux Cave artist tribe. Along the treacherous journey, however, players will need to guide him through various tasks and challenges, including the need to "hunt, fish, cut stones, paint animated frescoes and take part in mysterious shamanist ceremonies."

According to Coladia, the developer behind the port, the new version has been enhanced in key ways, as the "gameplay and each puzzle were redesigned to take unique advantage of the touch capabilities of the iPhone", along with optimizing the graphics and videos.
