Ben and Dan rise again in Revenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexican
There's no siesta for the weary, it seems. Hot on the heels of Time Gentlemen, Please!, indie developers Zombie Cow Studios are already hard at work on a new episodic series of adventures for Ben and Dan, and today announced the debut title, Revenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexican.
The new series will pick up after the events of the last game, in which Ben and Dan managed to save the world from... well, themselves, though this isn't a direct continuation of that storyline. Few specifics have been revealed about the first episode at this point, but Revenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexican will pit the likeable London duo against an antagonist that Zombie Cow insists "genuinely does have a balloon for a head."
Ben and Dan's ongoing adventures will feature the same non-talkie retro stylings of the previous games (including the freeware originator Ben There, Dan That!), with the familiar wacky humour and "unique and charming blend of puzzle-solving nonsense". This time around, however, the boys are able to split up, allowing gamers to alternate between two different paths for the playable characters. The goal is to provide a shorter episodic experience intended to be "about the same sort of length as a TV show, depending on player skill."
There is currently no firm release date for Revenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexican, though the developers are hoping to launch the game some time later this year.
