Microids catalogue coming to Macs in 2009

Mac users typically get the short end of the gaming stick, but there’s some good news today as Microïds announced the production of their games for Macintosh. First the company’s current titles will get the Mac treatment, then popular titles from their back catalogue later in 2009.

GameCo will be developing new title Still Life 2 for the Mac, with an aim to release it by the end of June in some territories. The task of converting Return to Mysterious Island and Return to Mysterious Island 2 has been assigned to Mac specialists Coladia. Coladia will also undertake the process of bringing other older Microïds titles to the platform later in 2009.

Still Life 2 marks the return of FBI agent Victoria McPherson, this time on the case of the East Coast Torturer. Return to Mysterious Island and its sequel are Jules Verne-inspired tropical island adventures casting players in the role of shipwrecked heroine Mina, who must find a way to survive on the puzzle-laden island.

Same here. Now I only hope that the Mac version won’t be more expensive than the Windows versions.

this is good news indeed!! i bought windows to run on my iMac with boot camp just so i could play adventure games. But having them run natively in OS X will be much better! I hope other developers/publishers follow Microïds’ example Smile
