Adventure gaming in the United Kingdom and Scandinavia just got a whole lot more surreal, as Lighthouse Interactive announced that Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals has now shipped to retailers.
The new sci-fi adventure is White Birds' adaptation of Enki Bilal's graphic novels, set in Paris in the year 2023. This is a Paris quite unlike our own, however. Ruled by an iron-fisted dictator, with the few rich physically separated from the poor masses, the city is also host to a giant, pyramid-shaped floating ship inhabited by Egyptian gods. Against this bizarre backdrop, players assume the role of struggling artist Alcide Nikopol, who discovers that his astronaut father, long believed dead, may in fact be alive and held underground as a pawn in a political power struggle.
Coinciding with the game's launch, Lighthouse has also unveiled a new cinematic teaser, which can be downloaded from sites such as WorthPlaying and GamersHell.
