Sam & Max hit the Wii

This just in: Sam & Max are less PC than ever. Okay, that's hardly news, but in this case the issue is platform, not political correctness, as at long last Sam & Max: Season One has been released for the Nintendo Wii in North America.

The six-episode season from Telltale, which debuted two years ago and released monthly, represented the long (LONG!) awaited return of Steve Purcell's canine shamus and hyperkinetic rabbity thing to gaming. The new hijinx of the Freelance Police took them to such diverse places as the White House, a virtual reality program, and even the moon in an ongoing effort to track the elusive perpetrator of a mind-control scheme.

The new release of Season One brings all the same point-and-click sensibilities of the original episodes to the Wii, and enhancements to the interface and the in-game tutorial promise to make the console version easily accessible to newcomers. The Wii port also includes widescreen support which wasn't initially available on PC. For more information about the Wii version, be sure to check out the official website.

The Wii version of Sam & Max: Season One is currently available only in North America, but is scheduled to be released in Europe in November.
