Encore rolls out trailers for Microïds’ summer lineup

It's been a long time in coming, but at last the North American release of Sinking Island, Dracula 3, and Nostradamus is close at hand, and today Encore launched its "Mystery Adventure" website for these three Microïds titles, along with the much-anticipated Still Life 2.

The new website contains a variety of resources and information for each game, and introduces streaming teasers for the three games due this summer. Sinking Island is Benoît Sokal's (and White Birds') first PC foray into detective fiction, as Jack Norm must investigate the murder of an eccentric billionaire even as the victim's island paradise sinks beneath the weight of the resort tower built upon it. Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon and Nostadamus: The Last Prophecy are the two latest adventures from Kheops and its partnering studios, taking players on a haunting journey into Transylvania and into the conspiratorial royal courts of Renaissance France, respectively.

Sinking Island and Dracula 3 are due for release in August 2008, while Nostradamus will follow a month later.

Sweet! Thanks Jackal!
Somehow, that news item made my day, I’m thrilled!

Though I have nothing against digital distribution (heck, I love Steam, Telltale Games, and The Adventure Shop), sometimes I feel like getting some boxes again. Depends on what sort of mood I’m in.

Yep, Encore will be releasing full retail versions of all these games in North America.

I’m not sure about Nostradamus, but Sinking Island and Dracula 3 are MUST buys for me! Their visuals look awesome and they appear to have refreshing ideas in the story department.

The only thing that bothers me is that new publishing scheme. With all the efforts both Microïds and Kheops put into their digital distribution channels, I have yet to understand if Encore is actually getting those games at retail or not. Perhaps it’s just me, but I always feel confused when a game has multiple releases.

But still, I can’t wait!
