Diabolik: The Original Sin bites into console markets
Artematica has had mixed success with comic-themed licenses in the past, having previously featured Druuna and Martin Mystere in their own games. Since then, the Italian developer has been busy working on another game based on a comic, Diabolik: The Original Sin, and today a worldwide publishing deal with Black Bean Games was announced for distribution on the Nintendo DS, Wii, PSP and Playstation 2.
This newest title stars Diabolik, a master thief first featured in a 1960s comic of the same name, who has a love of luxury and disguises and is out to rescue his one true love, Eva. The game blends adventure gameplay with some stealth and combat in both real-time 3D and 2D black and white comic-style graphics.
The console versions are set to be released in the third quarter of 2008. A PC version is also planned for release at the same time, but publishing details for that version aren't known at this time.
