North Americans begin watch for Vigil: Blood Bitterness

If you like your adventures a little twisted, a little dark, and a whole lot different, there's good news ahead, as Meridian4 and Freegamer have announced a North American publishing agreement for Vigil -- Episode 1: Blood Bitterness.

Originally released only as a download under the title Victi: Blood Bitterness, the now-renamed Vigil is a unique adventure set in the dying days of an ancient civilization which is being engulfed by "an Evil that annihilates all in its path... drowning everything under a black essence." With no way to stop it, the goal of the first episode is simply (but not easily) to escape the palace in which you begin, solving puzzles and escaping deadly traps along the way.

Although its interface is classic point-and-click, the stylish presentation of Vigil really sets it apart from most games. Using a full 3D engine and simple comic-styled graphics, Vigil is predominantly black-and-white, with splashes of colour used to accentuate key details.

For more information about Blood Bitterness, be sure to read our review of the game. No firm details have been revealed about the game's release date in North America other than that it will be "available soon".
