Playable demo for Beyond the Spirit’s Eye released

The indie adventure scene continues to be a haven for horror, and today gamers can scare themselves silly with a playable demo of Last Half of Darkness: Beyond the Spirit's Eye.

Like its predecessor, Shadow of the Servants, the new game is a first-person, point-and-click creepfest. This time out, Beyond the Spirit's Eye takes gamers to a deserted village linked to an ancient black jewel called "Eye". As you explore, "you will soon uncover an evil that protects the jewel with its dark past and strange riddles of black magic. The village holds not only a home to the rare relic, but also a family of nocturnal hierarchy, breeding with each bite and inflicting their curse upon the remaining mortal townsfolk. As dusk approaches, the vampiric society begin to rise from the crypt and a new dawn must wait patiently for the last half of darkness to pass beyond the spirit's eye."

The 200 MB demo can be downloaded directly from the official website, where you can also find a trailer for the game.

No firm target date for the game has yet been established, though a release this year is anticipated.
