There's been very little fanfare in the English-speaking world for Destination: Treasure Island, the swashbuckling new adventure by Kheops Studio. While a trailer and playable demo are available on the French version of the site, non-francophones will need to make do for now with the pretty pictures, rousing music, and game overview offered at the English site.
"Freely inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's novel", Destination: Treasure Island picks up four years after the conclusion of the book. When a now-adolescent Jim Hawkins receives a visit from Captain Flint, the parrot companion of Long John Silver, he learns that the pirate has buried a secret treasure on Emerald Island. Motivated by his "taste for discovery and the deep desire to fulfill the dying wishes of an old friend," Hawkins sets out on his new quest, but players must beware the dangers of Long John's old enemies following close behind.
