Telltale continues to expand

Telltale Games has released two announcements today highlighting new developments around the company.

Firstly, Telltale has closed $0.6 million in private financing. The funds will be used to develop Bone, an adventure game based on the comic of the same name by Jeff Smith, as well as to sign "additional popular licenses." A consultant company called Avance assisted Telltale in attracting investors.

Meanwhile, Telltale's team continues to expand. Several former LucasArts employees are joining the production team, most of whom worked on relatively new titles such as Republic Commando, Gladius and Knights of the Old Republic II. The team is strengthened on the creative side with the addition of Brian Gillies, previously lead artist on the megalomanic management game Evil Genius, and Lea Mai Nguyen, a lead artist on RTX Red Rock.

The announcement also makes mention of a recently signed agreement to work on a still to be announced license. Although no further details were given, unofficial sources suggest this second project is not based on a comic book license.

We’ll bring you more information on Bone and Telltale's second project as it becomes available.
