Magna Cum Laude goes gold

Vivendi Universal has announced that High Voltage Software's Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude has gone gold and is on target for its scheduled October 5 ship date. The game, the first full-fledged Larry title since Sierra's Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love For Sail in 1996, is ostensibly an adventure but is known to contain a high proportion of arcade and mini-game elements. It follows the escapades of Larry Lovage, nephew of the series' progenitor Larry Laffer, as he works his way through community college with the lofty aim of getting laid as often as he can. Despite his willingness to contribute, Al Lowe was not involved in the development process.

Despite the game's brief flirtation with an Adults Only rating while still in development (MCL is well known to be Larry's most explicit adventure yet), Vivendi has managed to brand the game Mature. It will retail for $49.99 on Xbox and PS2 but for only $29.99 on PC. For more about the game, check out Adventure Gamers' previous coverage.
