New Leisure Suit Larry designer diary on GameSpot

GameSpot has released the third in a sequence of designer diaries for High Voltage Software's upcoming Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. The diaries were each written by a different member of the game's team and have contained relatively little solid information about the game. Apart from giving us some glimpses at Magna Cum Laude's innovative non-linear conversation engine, the main purpose of the series of development notes seems to be to assure fans of Sierra's classic Leisure Suit Larry franchise that the forthcoming sequel will be as funny and offensive as possible.

Fortunately, High Voltage producer Josh VanVeld does indicate in the most recent diary that "we've written about 12,000 lines of dialogue, and almost all of it is intended to be funny." We may not yet know how much Magna Cum Laude is going to play like a pure adventure, but this particular bit of information should be welcome news to any adventure fan.

There has been no recent news on Al Lowe's possible involvement with the game.

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude will be published by Vivendi Universal under the Sierra On-Line brand and is expected to ship in the 3rd Quarter of 2004. For more information on this title, check out our archived content.
