Michel Bams, Olivier Fontenay, Jean-Philippe Messian and Benoît Sokal have co-founded White Birds Productions, a new company focusing on the development of adventure games. The company also intends to bring the universes it creates to other media, such as audiovisual, cartoon publishing and merchandising.
Benoît Sokal is the creator and art director of Amerzone, Syberia and Syberia II. He has worked with Microïds as an external contractor, so his new company won't necesserily change the way both parties work together. Microïds spokesperson Cedric Orvoine says that Benoît's job on Syberia II is "pretty much done".
White Birds Productions holds three original scenarios from Benoît Sokal, each of them being adaptable to video games as well as other media. One of these scenarios is under discussion with undisclosed parties.
The co-founders of the Paris-based White Birds Productions have been working with each other for many years. Olivier Fontenay was producer on Syberia, Post Mortem and Road to India for Microïds Canada, while Michel Bams was responsible for the marketing of Syberia and Post Mortem.
