For most of us, getting home from work is a mundane, everyday experience completely devoid of drama. Quite the opposite is true for the protagonist of The Plane Effect, an upcoming dystopian adventure from Innovina Interactive and Studio Kiku.

When family relationships are strained, a bonding activity can sometimes help to reduce the tension and repair frayed ties. But how might you fare if a vacation intended to heal your relationship turned into a life-and-death struggle for survival? This is the premise of My Father My Son, an upcoming dual-character platforming adventure by Polish developer Blinkclick Games.

The pandemic has been wreaking havoc on single people's love lives, and now art is mimicking life in Romantic Distancing, the spiritual successor to last year's character-driven romcom adventure, Half Past Fate.

Big Brother is watching ... the squirrels? Yes, something is up with the bushy-tailed rodents in Melmoth Forest, and it's your task to figure out what in NUTS, the recently released Firewatch-style spy adventure.

The interplay between light and shadow has become an increasingly popular gaming focus in recent years. Indian developer Playbae has seen the potential for it as well, as we'll soon be able to find out for ourselves in the upcoming puzzle-platformer In My Shadow.

They say you can never go home again, but that's not really true. You CAN go home again ... just beware what you might find when you do. This will certainly be true in I Saw Black Clouds, a new interactive FMV mystery coming soon from Ghost Dog Films.

What exactly happens to all the airplanes and sea vessels that disappear in the famed Bermuda Triangle? That may forever remain a mystery, but you can find out for yourself what happens to one in particular in Yak & Co's isometric adventure, Down in Bermuda.

While the thought of world-ending cataclysm may have some looking to the stars for possible salvation, what would happen when the time finally came to return back home if such an escape occurred? This is the question posed by the upcoming indie British adventure, Woodsalt.

It’s probably a safe bet that for most people, the thought of reliving their high school years would be about as desirable as having a root canal or running into a burning building. But it’s a whole different story when time travel and a magical kraken are involved, and the stakes are as high as saving the world. That’s the wacky premise of Kraken Academy!!, a comedic adventure from German developer Happy Broccoli Games set to debut next year.

Over the years we've come to equate Amanita Design with delightfully whimsical feel-good adventures. It's ironic, then, that their cheeriest sounding title yet is poised to be one of the indie Czech developer's darkest in the upcoming Happy Game.

In the real world, our shadows follow wherever we go. Not necessarily so in dream worlds, however, as is the case in Shady Part of Me, a newly released puzzle-platformer from indie developer Douze Dixièmes.

Adventure games are usually about brains over brawn, but occasionally they let us have both. (Who doesn't fondly remember delivering satisfying knuckle sandwiches to Nazis in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis?) Another such game that intends to give players the best of both worlds is BROK the InvestiGator, an upcoming classic adventure / beat 'em up hybrid from COWCAT.

Certain objects of importance to us are often able to trigger memories upon sight, but what if those objects actually possessed memories of their own that could be tapped into? This is the premise behind indie developer hako life's newly released Unreal Life.

Tabletop RPGs can have a lot in common with adventure games, from their (usually) fantasy settings to their cerebral approach and epic character-driven quests. Indie German developer Golden Orb plans to blur the line between the two formats and genres entirely in the upcoming "nerdventure" Siebenstreich, which is currently seeking crowdfunding through Kickstarter.

Is death really the end, or just the start of a whole new adventure? Whatever the elusive answer to that question in real life, fortunately in gaming the latter seems often to be the case, such as in Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg's newly released charming afterlife adventure, I Am Dead.
