For nearly 30 years, Gold Rush! has been one of the few classic Sierra properties that hasn't been thoroughly mined for sequels, but that looks set to change next year with the announcement of Sunlight Games' Gold Rush 2.

If you still have an old Sega Dreamcast system lying around, you might want to blow the dust off it for a couple of bundled first-person adventure games, Elansar and its sequel Philia. Not to worry if you don't, however, as the games are also available on more modern platforms.

Cops don't have it easy, at least not in the land of fiction. Whether it's the things they've seen or just the long hours and the stress, few seem to last for long without cracking up, getting divorced and turning to the bottle. In The Last Time, indie developer Daniel Black may start us down this well-worn path, but after that it's up to us in this "narrative-driven" point-and-click adventure that has successfully completed its Kickstarter campaign.

Because of their focus on story, adventure games are uniquely suited to the retelling of historical events within the framework of interactive experience. Recent adventures like Valiant Hearts and Papers, Please have offered insights into authentic real-world events and presenting them interactively,  garnering favorable response for doing so. Hoping to tread heretofore uncovered historical ground, this fall fledgling developer iNK Stories will take us to Iran in 1979 Revolution.

It's a mystery why there aren't more mobile adventures made, but one mystery that has made it onto iOS and Android devices is Relentless Software's The Trace.

The terms "MISSING" and "FMV" made for an impressive combination in Lexis Numérique's 2004 puzzler (also known as In Memoriam), and now indie developer Zandel Media is hoping the same proves true again with the debut of their new live-action mystery, MISSING: An Interactive Thriller.

If it seems like the last adventure game from Pendulo Studios was Yesterday, that's because it was, back in 2012. And as it turns out, the next one will be too, as today Microïds revealed that its previously announced partnership with the Spanish Studio will be for Yesterday Origins, a pseudo-sequel due out next year.

Outside of prison, few human beings know what it's like to be truly caged up. But we could soon, courtesy of indie developer Big Loop Studios, as the surreal adventure DreamCage 28 is currently seeking funding through Kickstarter.
