Great visuals, fun puzzles, cliched plot and characters.

My first impressions were good with all the ingredients of a classic point and click adventure. Impressive visuals and environments, logical puzzles, interesting premise.

Unfortunately it soon devolves into a series of cliches and long-winded dialogue about artefacts, history, politics. It’s basically a Dan Brown novel, and I could never get to the end of those without rooting for a spontaneous apocalypse.

The protagonist and her lapdog, Joris, are bog standard, cut and paste characters, going through the motions. They’re pleasant and inoffensive, which is why I find them so boring and lacking any depth.

My disappointment in this game is likely a matter of taste and a result of my aversion to this tired old genre of historical conspiracy fiction. But at least it was done with style and I enjoyed the puzzle solving.
