Somewhat frustrating
Well… the biggest thing that makes this game hard, as mentioned in the review, is that the notebook system is broken. Needed clues aren’t added to the notebook and items rarely have to be combined in the notebook. So the system you learned in the last game doesn’t work in this game. Second, it wasn’t clear to me until most of the way through that we had shifted time periods. There was nothing to distinguish Lauren from her daughter other than her annoyingly repetitive chain-smoking. And the world mostly looked quite modern. And I don’t think this game really advanced the plot of the series - it was a flashback. And the opening puzzle was annoying too. You can switch characters now, but you’re left on your own as far as figuring that out. The story wasn’t horrible, although the ending didn’t fit well… but the game was unnecessary and probably should never have been released.
