"Flashback" grading questionable

I played this game at the time of its release in 2000. Haunted Mansion was a somewhat fun, but mediocre game at the time of its release. Compared to other games that were available at the time, including older 1st person Windows games from the 1990’s that were still available for purchase in 2000, Haunted Mansion did not stand out as being exceptional.
Some of these first person Windows games include Shivers, Timelapse, Zork Nemesis, Zork GI, the Journeyman Project games, Riven, Atlantis 2, Morpheus, etc. This list doesn’t even include classic 3rd person DOS games like the Gabriel Knight series. Haunted Mansion isn’t bad; it’s just mediocre and not particularly memorable, either compared to games available in 2000 or to other Nancy Drew games from around the same time.
