This fight was epic too, man Sotc was Gold
Thing is , each new Colossus zone and fight was a discovery and something you cant expect. That makes it best of trilogy

All of them!
Most impact was probably the first colossus, the flying Phalanx and the last. A lot of hate for the last one but it was an epic fight.

Paradoxically, Sotc is the one of the games I replayed the most which I don’t tend to do often and this game was an unlikely pick because most of its joy comes from discovery. Once you know all the colossi and seen the areas one might not want to revist immediately. But I did somehow….maybe because it WAS straightforward with little distractions. Got a lot of value out of that game.

I think I beat all of the colossi 6 or 7 times.
1 = normal mode(unlocks hard mode)
2 = completing normal time attack mode
3 = hard mode
4 = completing time attack mode on hard
5 = replaying the game on hard mode to build up grip bar
6 = replaying the game again to max out grip bar and climb the temple only to eat the forbidden fruit lol.

@Wilco, true…the first one is unique because its the first encounter with a colossus.
But the third one(Gaius) was the first giant colossus where the sense of scale outdid itself and reinvoked that ‘OMG’ feeling of the first. Running up his sword was awesome.

THe last time I played the game was some years ago so I don’t remember all of them correctly but I do remember that gib one where you have to climb the sword. Humongous. All of them have their special traits so it’s hard to pick them.

Last Guardian reviews are out, all over the place as expected but who really cares in this case?

okay i dont know how journos will take it
Camera and controls are janky , jank is strong like ico only that looking up at Trico
make it go all over places , patch is crawling at 2mb/800mb , but i heard it improves FPS, which is at 20 fps right now
It feels like Ueda built the game in Sotc engine

Other than that The FEEEEEEEELLLLLSSSSS are strong
Art,sound, music are What you can expect 2hrs in and already stuck at puzzle
There was already a man tears moment
I dont want to lose Trico, i am already emotional :+(
Trico animations are amazing but He can clip into walls for good glitch mania

Wilco check pics i sent on psn

Edit

Reviews are out
Positive too
Well yeah good to have reassurance
and good that Emotional ties with Trico triumphed all of them Smile

@wilco
yes last colossus was worst for me
Followed by Lava turtle, to make him turn and climb was frustrating
That jank is here in TLG Wink
Tremor one and Lions were awesome too, nice clever way to fight them
Watersnake was frustrating but good idea

Reviews seem pretty great so far.

General complaints are some camera issues and controls.
Probably issues a patch can handle.
And honestly, if controls are similar to SotC it’s really a non-issue for me.

Also 13 hours is pretty long.

Must-buy for me I guess.

Length mileage varies on solving puzzles, i am 3 hrs in and spending more time on exploring and playing with Trico

“PS4 Pro comes across as the only machine capable of delivering the ideal experience” according to DF

Pro locked at 30fps
Ps4 ver is 20 to 30 fps unstable
If Horizon will do same shit i will get pro next years end
Funny how Ueda vision was not meant for Ps4 vanilla let alone ps3 Tongue

Fun fact
I was thinking Horizon and TLG at 60fps on 1080

6HRS in
Giving all ps2 era , TR, Sands of time, Ico/sotc feels.
Huge landscapes, tall towers, puzzles , platforming with ps2 jankiness
Better than Ico
Easily my Goty and i am not even finished

Take your time, soak in and cry
I remembered all my dead cats
I took every spear out
I was taking care of Toriko more than small boy
I had more feelings for Toriko

So until you finish , here are my spoiler filled impressions

Mind was blown at small tunnel scene , amazing animations, claustrophobic grave type feeling worst place to die, i was like fk u ueda, not like this, then it all collapsed, then you run away and get ambushed like DemonsSouls Wink
Amazing scenarios like this, fighting with other creature dropping down and feeding with soul crushing music

How you come back to old places then take new routes , classic Ico, where you see one place in few hrs then see same hours later from other place

Lizard colossus Arena/Colosseum type place, where Trico throws you up have small lizards

Sotc i wanted was flying colossi so Trico flying and ending enemy flight with control, Ueda delivered

last quarter was genius, from falling from main tower to going back with wings, shield puzzles and final sections in alien monolith esp that tail puzzles in the end, Tail was key in the last quarter, genius

Ending separation scene was too painful, too much

Whole brids as monsters eating and how it turned 180 for Trico and how it was revealed that those boxes were actual Boys in barrels, so we were feeding boys all along, facepalm

The intro animals look alot like colossi, basically all Sotc were animals like Trico shown in intro just with Armor shown in the game, armour(green/grey/black) that controls the mind body and hides inner flesh, also same round glowing eyes
