Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Saturday 9 July
The Forgotten: It Begins
This was my first big disappointment in adventure games. It was not because I didn’t like the game itself. It presented the beginning of a good occult mystery story along with some nice graphics and decent, well-integrated puzzles. No, what disappointed me was that it was just an introduction to a series that was never finished, and it made me ever wary of purchasing episodic games until after all the parts are finished.

Yes, I played this too and was mad enough to spit (though I was too lady-like to do it) when I got to the end and there was none! It was only as long as a demo would have been. I looked it up and found out it was supposed to be episodic. There was not a thing on the jewel case insert that said so and I felt ripped off.
It was a pretty good game too.
Exact same experience here. It caught my fancy and then dropped the ball entirely.
Sigh. Those were the bad old days?
At least the title is appropriate. They said it begins but never claimed it ends.
Oscar The Comedian strikes again!
Thanks for the warning, Lady K!
Everybody wants to be Cary Grant.
Even Me.

Oscar - I missed your Friday AGSOTD post. Please don’t tell me I screwed up again.
For whom the games toll,
they toll for thee.
No, I screwed up. I thought it was your turn. I’ll put one up later. Thanks for the reminder.
