Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Thursday 30 August 2012
Here is Drawn, a game without gameplay (not even hidden object scenes). But it has pretty pictures!
Recently finished: Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse (R) (4/5) | Detective Di (3.5/5) | Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (R) (4.5/5) | Heaven’s Vault (3/5) | Ace Attorney: Justice For All (R) (3.5/5) | Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (R) (4.5/5) | Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space (R) (4.5/5) | The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker (abandoned) (2/5) | Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (3.5/5) | The Sexy Brutale (R) (4/5)
The only one from the series that I have played, but I loved it. Yes, the pictures are pretty, but the best part is the music. Many times I catch myself listening Drawn’s soundtrack…
Tried the first two but they’re much too casual for me. The only puzzle I really enjoyed was painting the queens portrait; a unique puzzle that I hadn’t seen before.
And exactly that one is singled out in the AG review as being tedious!
...and some of them were quite tedious, grinding the action to a screeching halt as you struggle to turn concentric rings together to form a picture or channel paint colors in the appropriate combinations to color a portrait.
