Yeah, the amount of variation the story has seems to be pretty staggering. For my second play through I decided to start by going through Europe and Russia and the text has been, after Paris, very different. Nothing spectacular has jumped on my eyes yet, but as far people and story goes, the difference is quite clear from my first attempt.

I’ve played until day 36.. It’s a lot of fun so far. Only one thing I’ve found frustrating is that it doesn’t seem to be possible to see until what time will a method of transport be available if it’s already available now.

For example I wanted to take a airship out of Colombo to Singapore but wanted to checkout the market before. By the time I finished going to the market, the airship was no longer available and I had to wait for 6 days :-(

I think you can go directly to plan trip and see what time the transport leaves to figure out if you have time to visit the market/explore city

Met Jules Verne on second playthrough at the beginning! Maybe it always happens…

I cannot recall that happening to me yet Smile
Maybe i did and forgot.. the disadvantage of playing this with a fever in bed past couple days. I did note at the end of my first playthrough fogg very directly said his next journey would be to the center of the earth. And oddly at my 2nd end he said it much more vague.

He was pretty direct in my playthrough. Waiting for the sequel now Smile

My second playthrough has been pretty uneventful so far (day 20), went through Rome, Sofia, Tehran (met the Automaton brain makers), Kabul and then a trip north to Omnsk (with a english spy Lady Sybil). I’m thinking maybe I should be hanging more time in towns.
I have to hit the North Pole in the next one

If anyone’s looking for a fun adventure, try the trip from Yokohama from Honolulu. It’s one of my favourite bits.

Anyway, remember when I said I wanted to go to Canada this time? Well, I’ve just boarded a sub to Brisbane, Australia. So I’m guessing that I won’t be seeing Canada this time…

Also, I’ve decided to be a dick to Fogg this time. It’s very entertaining.

Alright, one trip done, in 67 days.

http://www.inklestudios.com/80days/journeys/?id=CXXOuQLux0&playerName=kurufinwe

I originally wanted to go to Canada; then I wanted to go to Miami to follow up on the Michel Ardan storyline. But I ended up in Brisbane, diving to the Great Barrier Reef… I have no regret: the trip from Brisbane to Lima is probably the funniest bit in the entire game.

But I swear, next time: Canada.

The first most peculiar thing that happened to me was in Jeddah I think, when a nun clobbered me on the nogging with a heavy crucifix and she and her sister hired me to find an automaton with a soul.

I do think I found this automaton from Manama, as this beastly machine gave me a task to complete in order to hasten my trip.

Those are actually two different things. I finished that bit on my journey; the automaton with a soul can be found on the way from Timbuktu to Marrakesh. There’s a nice little bit of story there, and a lot of money to earn.

Just rode a Garuda (automaton eagle) from Urga to Yokohama, wild ride.
From Irkusrk to Urga I rode with a Mongol caravan and met a Swiss doctor that was fighting the tzar but I might have made something wrong since she just disappeared at some point. I was hoping she would show at the Garuda.

Did anyone solve the murder in the Noelani (airship to Honolulu)? I messed up and missed something

Finished the second playthrough. Like it was said, it was entirely different

http://www.inklestudios.com/80days/journeys/?id=CQL5J45Yo4&playerName=wilco

For the ending parts:

- Stole a steam digger with a dynamite crew in Panama City and went through the jungle to the Amazonia
- Delivered some poison and listened about the revolution in Dakar
- In Lisbon had dinner with some doppelgangers that were starting a world travel in reverse that was fun Smile
- Still frustated I didn’t solve the murder

The funds were a lot more close in this one. I guess I was lucky in the first playthrough. Next one will be through the north

In the end Fogg said the next journey would be to the Moon!!

interesting! he seems to say something different each time for me so far. I wonder what determines it.
And pretty much everything else youve mentioned is stuff that has not happened to me. I fully attend to make my way into a jungle or desert on this playthrough.

I didn’t solve it either the first time around. It’s pretty intricate, and I was very happy when I got everything right the second time around.

I notice you’d bought the katana in Yokohama. I love how the game goes “Oh look! That katana’s worth a million pounds in Honolulu! Buyiybuyitbuyit!” And then you buy it and bam! Someone uses it to kill somebody and cast suspicion on you.

(The murder still happens even if you don’t have the katana. But it’s more fun that way.)

My second run around the world took 64 days and I was even left with 3400 pounds after I got back to London. So overall, quite an improvement from my first journey. I even managegd to take the faster route to Londo directly over the ocean instead of going through Reykjavik or other shorter, less expensive bursts.

I also got the murder plot when I got to Honolulu, and didn’t manage to solve it. This time around though, when I went to San Fransisco the captain of the banana boat didn’t go into delivery of her baby and so I didn’t have to assiste her on that unlike the first time around.

The overall trip through Europe and Russia was uneventful, with the expection of having to escort a british spy to Russia and help her over the border.

I think that’s enough for me of 80 Days for now, but it definetly seems to be a game you can play more than once, especially considering how different he narratives have been here. And there’s a lot of routes to try as well I didn’t even glance at yet, like Africa, Canada or South America.

Another trip, this one even shorter Smile 57 days:

http://www.inklestudios.com/80days/journeys/?id=oPyDqwie59&playerName=wilco

Went the north route and it totally different and great:
Reaching North Pole took a while with the accident (not sure what caused the explosion?)
- Mythical city in the North Pole
- After that huge leap to Gastown Canada
- Discovered the floating city in Canada
- After that went North to Greenland and then Reykjavik
- Took the trip from Reykjavik to Snowdon through the center of the world sea  Thumbs Up

In the end the Fogg another different thing - the next adventure would the trip the long way (which probably was a reference to ending so fast Smile )

Great game, I think I’ll try one last playthrough

Hm yeah i dont know if they ever said exactly what caused it, maybe just because the ships instruments had been sabotaged so it was unable to avoid a crash

I also think that, but since the saboteur makes a point in saying she didn’t cause the explosion I was wondering if there is another explanation. Later in Nanortalik it’s possible to find the crew member (name Vetti?) and he is all depressed about the explosion but doesn’t really offer an explanation I think

Edit: New playthrough started different, for the first time there an option besides Paris for 1st stop - Cambridge
