Another solid year for the Nintendo DS with the birth of the Professor Layton series, the next chapter in the Ace Attorney series, but above all: Time Hollow.
Time Hollow easily gets my vote. The game managed to draw me into its time-travelling story almost immediately, and kept me intrigued till the end. A lovely little game that made me very curious about the dev’s earlier work: Shadow of Memories.
I haven’t played most of the non-DS games this year, but I did enjoy A Vampyre Story too.

I’m almost tempted to vote for Perry Rhodan, because I feel this game is criminally underrated (seriously, why is it not even on GOG or Steam?); however, the second season of Sam & Max is the funniest game I’ve ever played, so it gets my vote.
I think 2008 was a pretty good year. But we’re reaching the point where the games I’ve never replayed (Nikopol, Overclocked, Sinking Island, So Blonde, The Experiment, Strong Bad) are almost outnumbering those I have replayed. So my votes are going to get more and more random and meaningless.
(I really want to replay So Blonde someday. I have a feeling that the game that’s briefly glimpsed between the loading screens might actually be good.)
This one is very easy! A Vampyre Story is simply the best! in this quest. 
My choice was in the unlisted - Outcry. A haunting, dream-like world that I can stil visualize, even though I played it years ago.
Hmmm, I meant to vote for the Lost Crown but somehow seem to have clicked on Overclocked - could someone with mod powers change it please?
Both games are great but although the Lost Crown took me quite a while to get into it really is something very special.

For me an easy year - Lost Crown.
The Lost Crown gets my vote.
I also like Dracula Origin and Outcry.
So many games from this year that I loved as much as Overclocked which is the one I decided to vote for!
Sam & Max: Season 2 gets my vote!

My only regret is that when the 2010 vote comes up, A Vampyre Story 2 won’t be on the list.

I went for Professor Layton. I loved the Studio Ghibli aesthetics of it, and the puzzles were real fun and challenging.
