Are the Legend games currently available anywhere legally?

You can play several Legend games online. See for instance

And there’s also ebay or gametz.

Oh, I’d forgotten about the runnable stuff in the archive - that’s good.

This has probably been discussed plenty here before, but how challenging is it to get their stuff running if you get an original copy off ebay? It sounded as though they were all coded from scratch rather than using a VM, so not really suitable for ScummVM or similar…

I played my own Legend games (collection, CD) on my old win98 computer. But some (most?) of them, like Shannara, are playable in DOS. So DOSbox should be the answer.

When I played all the Legend games recently I used Dosbox for all without any problems except Blackstone Chronicles that needed more tinkering and Dosbox with Win95/98.
