What is name of this adventure genre/dimension?
Games like Scratches Director’s Cut, Dracula 1-5 are not real 3D games,
what is name of this 360° view dimension?
Like original Myst? Node based adventure games?
Pre-rendered 3d node based adventure games, perhaps?
I Am the Knight of the Order of the Sun!
Bad adventure games?
Bad adventure games?
Why do you think they are bad Lambonius?

I don’t have an explanation.

Oh well, end of conversation then! & games back to being okay to good unless proved otherwise!
Better answer would have been “You’d have to ask the creators.”
Anyway, I don’t know of any official name, but I’d describe them as first-person, node-based, 360°-view (or panoramic view) adventure games.

Myst didn’t have 360 degree scrolling. ‘Node-based’ is the common term, but it could also describe slideshow since they technically contain ‘nodes’.

You see, the reason this sub-genre isn’t more popular is because you can’t describe it in few simple words.

A Myst Clone
Nah, the OP asked for a free 360° rotation of a scene. Kheops-esque? An Egypt 1156 B.C. Clone?

Ok, how about a Myst III clone.
I Am the Knight of the Order of the Sun!
I don’t like the word ‘clone’. It’s derogatory and dismissive and was used in that manner by People Who Don’t Like Myst(TM) in their reviews and comments of 1st-person games.
Besides, games like Myst III and Grand Inquisitor couldn’t be more different. It would be like calling The Longest Journey a ‘Maniac Mansion clone’ for having static backgrounds in 3rd person.

You’re right, usually when I’m talking to someone about this type of game, I’d just refer to it as a first person adventure game.
That way whether real time or node based, the term still works.
