Trauma (2011) is a 1st-person indie game consisting of photorealistic images. A girl recovers in hospital from a car accident. She’s in a dreamlike state. In four different dreams you wander around the lonely streets at night, find polaroids of her memories, perform tasks, and interact with your environment by drawing symbols on the screen. Each dream has three possible endings.

My dislike of the pixelated retro style and preference for FMV makes me biased, I admit it. But I found it an interesting, novel experience. Great atmosphere too.

I loved the atmosphere. Very surreal and dreamlike. A little on the casual side for me, but considering it was a university student’s project I’m forgiving.

It the category artsy really small games this one didn’t click much with me. The pictures and mood were kind of nice but I thought something like Dear Esther was more successful.

I enjoyed playing Trauma.  I liked the mood and the puzzles.
