Paul sure seems like the kind of guy you’d never want to do business with. Once your partnership ends he’ll immediately start taking jabs at you.

Wow. just…wow. I really wonder how CodeMasters feels about all this.

It also begs the question if Replay would even get to retain the license at this rate, partially because of the behaviors seen from the KS campaign onward, but also because CM wants to see how well the remakes sell before granting permission to do a sequel: for all intents and purposes, about 15,000 copies of the game have been already been pre-sold.

All in all, just demonstrates a total lack of planning and looking before leaping.

Apparently, it’s okay to single out backers and tell them that their opinion doesn’t matter because they put up $15 instead of thousands?

If anything, Floyd is a voice of reason here.

I wish Josh could just take over this project and fire this other dude.

This kickstarter sure went some strange places…

Don’t know if we’ll ever see this game but all this drama alone is probably worth the pledge. (but it should be backers-only drama!)

This is the greatest Kickstarter project of them all. I’m enjoying the drama immensely and hope it doesn’t start going backers-only Tongue

Oh God, this keeps getting worse, or better, depending on how you look at it. In the world of Paul Trowe it’s apparently acceptable to give out the personal details of people who gave them to you in good faith, along with their money. Perfectly legitimate complaints also now fall under the umbrella of “trolling.”

The best line was “We listen to all positive feedback” i.e. Paul only likes people who kiss his bloated ass, and he purposely ignores any criticism because his head is so far stuck up said bloated… well, you get the idea. This is an incredibly childish approach, yet I would expect nothing less from him. The people I respect the most are those who are able to take constructive criticism on board, admit their shortcomings, and learn from it all.

Next we get the admittance “taking the team to Tel Aviv wasn’t an option before we raised our money” so despite claims that Paul hasn’t been spending any Kickstarter money on travelling, or lawyers fees for his attempts at frivolous lawsuits, he’s been busy draining the Kickstarter coffers sending a group of people halfway around the world and back, just in an exercise to discover information that he was wilfully ignorant of before he started the project.

I’m shaking my head so much right now because of this that I’d probably have grounds to sue Replay for whiplash. Seriously, Paul Trowe just needs to shut up, crawl back under whatever rock he came out from, and go back to beta-testing - which apparently is the grand achievement of his life. Or at least he should gain some humility, and respect the very people who provided the funds to rescue him from obscurity, and who gave him this undeserved platform. I’m behind Floyd’s statements 100%.

The best line was “We listen to all positive feedback”

Yup. That line has to be one of the biggest fails ever.

It’s one thing to differentiate “OMG this game sux u guyz I hated it!11!” complaints littering Amazon review pages from legitimate, and often constructive, criticism that comes from people who well…are the ones BUYING the games. Hey, he’s got a business degree…you mean to tell me he’s never heard of “consumer sovereignty”? Oy gevalt.

That and it’s generally not good form to lash out at the people who give you money, and who you hope to give you money on a regular basis. It doesn’t take a frigging Harvard MBA to figure THAT out.

Listening to the constructive aspects of negative feedback helps someone get better at what they do—whether it’s music, writing, sports, or what have you. Game development is no exception. If anything, negative feedback is far more helpful than positive feedback because it shows you how to make future games better!

Someone who cannot take criticism not only does not belong in a leadership position, but especially not in this business. The gaming industry’s a thug in a cocktail dress.

Personally, I find all this wanting to stick one’s head in the sand and sweep things under the rug to be disturbing. I too stand with Floyd.

Hell, there should be a I’m With Floyd shirt akin to that I’m With Coco shirt. Tongue

That’s what I don’t get - did they seriously blow a bunch of Kickstarter money just to fly themselves all back to Tel Aviv and back?

That’s what it sounds like. No matter how much they try to spin it as a necessary business trip, that trip was still essentially wasted because Adventure Mob got dumped. A round-trip coach ticket from most points in the US to Tel Aviv is about $1,750/person. Do the math on how many people flew out, and accommodations.

Not to mention that this type of vetting should have done BEFORE asking the fans for the princely sum of half a million bucks—the due diligence should have been conducted PRIOR to the campaign, and on Replay’s own money, before asking others to part with their cash.

I’m finding some of the hostility directed towards Trowe just as distasteful as anything the man himself has come out with.

trolls will be trolls. But a PR guy is paid to not be a troll, even to be the opposite of one. Thats the one thing they need to do… not fuel arguments with the fans. So saying random people on the internet are being just as distasteful as he is… does him no favors.

Replay Games:
The official character model for the new game. Don’t worry if he looks a bit young, he’s actually going to age as the series goes on.
