PS: Odd, Rapalje sings Hurray instead of Way Hay.

There are a few variations to the word that’s sung as well as to the spelling of ‘Way Hay’, when that’s used, in ‘The Drunken Sailor’!

It’s apparently a song traditionally sung by sailors while raising the anchor on a ship so I’m guessing that the correct spelling is ‘weigh heigh’ as anchors aweigh refers to unhooking the anchor from the sea bed & heigh is an old English word of encouragement! But I could be completely wrong!!!
