This month’s text adventure is 1893: A World’s Fair Mystery (2002). It must have been a labor of love for developer Peter Nepstad to recreate the Fair. Hundreds and hundreds of locations with black-and-white pics of buildings, expositions, people, machines. I took one look at the original map of the Fair that comes with the game and realized I would get hopelessly lost. And I did. I enjoyed wandering around but I never solved the mystery. Maybe one day…

There’s very few screenshots from this game to be found online, despite the obvious number of black-and-white pictures it contains.
Of course, most of the screenshots is just text, so that might explain things. Tongue

Did anyone here play this and solve this mystery? Is it any good?

Well, the AG review by Evan Dickens is glowing. That should count for something.

Are you interested in playing this particular text adventure?

I bought the game many moons ago but haven’t played it yet.

I would be if I didn’t have an overly long list of other AGs to get through first (and if I was actually making progress in said list)... Shifty Eyed
