That is a good thing - so many games and so little time. I’d start with “Still Life” myself.

I enjoy playing adventure games on my Alienware M17 r4 and my Nintendo Switch OLED.

Want dark, gritty and realistic? Try Police Quest 4: Open Season. The last part of the game in the theater is especially disturbing.

Totally agree bro….the end of that game made me uneasy

In fact ,much of that game was a bit unsettling…..5 stars! I loved every moment Heart Eyes

Cognition.  I haven’t even played them, yet, but from reading the prequel comic and what I’ve read, it’s amazing, and very dark.  About to start my playthrough, now.

The old darkseed games were pretty dark and grim.

Harvester was certainly very dark.

My favorites in the “dark and gritty” genre are Still Life, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened and The Wolf Among Us. Our own newly released crime noir game, The Detail, also fits the bill quite nicely Wink.

The Detail, a crime noir adventure in a modern American city. This is a city where cases matter, clearance rates matter, and on a good day even justice matters.

Anoteher world. Oldie but goldie. I felt really lonely playing it and the lack of any music in the game just deepens that.
