Anyone remember or play Fable (1996) recently?
I’d love to replay this game. I had it when it released, I remember it as one of the last point and clicks I had bought around that time as in a few years I got sucked into Everquest hardcore.
But I always remembered this game, anyone still have it and played it recently?
Hi! I’ve never played it, I actually thought you were talking about the original Xbox Fable at first.
But that got me googling - this is now abandonware. If you want to play it again, and are savvy with using Dosbox you can download it for free. I’m always searching for decent abandonware so I think I’ll give this one a go

I tried to play that game last week on win 7 using dosbox, but game crashes at random times…I wouldn’t bother to fix that issue, because there is so many better games from that era we could play.
Still have it and played it couple years ago (it actually run smoothly with on Dosbox and in the Windows version), it only redeeming features is the art and some of the jokes, otherwise its not so good adventure to say the least.

Yea I remember not being to fond of it. That’s what sort of got me thinking about it, because I cant remember much other than I wasn’t loving it.
I recall liking the first half of it, the other half felt like they ran out of money and had to start cutting corners in order to get the game out. It is pretty game though. The background art still is among the best I’ve seen.
