I’m trying to compile a list of all the commercial AGs that are about vampires or that feature cameos or references to vampires in them. I already have a good head start, but I’m sure I have missed a bunch of them. I’d appreciate any help in making this list as complete as possible.

Note that this list encompasses all languages and platforms as well as hybrid games. I haven’t played all of these games so there may be some games in the wrong section or even games that shouldn’t be on the list at all. Please notify me of any errors and thanks in advance for your help.

I always kind of liked Dracula The Undead on Atari Lynx for some reason.

Also, Transylvania was my first adventure game as a kid.

Bloodlines (rpg) under hybrid.

bloodlines is fantastic and i think it borders very close to being an adventure game. (although the last 20% or so of the game loses much of its adventure feel)

Since you’re including text adventures, the Interactive Fiction Database has tagged a bunch of games as being vampire-related.

Most of them I haven’t even heard about, and some may be little more than joke games, but at least The Horror of Rylvania seems like it would fit quite nicely.

Bloodlines (rpg) under hybrid.

I thought about including VtM: Bloodlines but I don’t think it has enough adventure game characteristics to qualify as a hybrid. It’s just a plain old RPG to me, even if it is of the Deus Ex variety. I’m not too horribly invested in the hybrid section of my list though, so if enough people think I’m being unfair about not including it, I’ll add it.

Awesome link. I didn’t mention it in the original post (I’ve updated it to reflect this now), but I’m only interested in commercial games so I don’t think The Horror of Rylvania fits the bill. Gothmog’s Lair does though. The rest seem to be freeware.

A big problem with old text adventures is verifying their commercial status. There are lots of games I come across that I can’t classify either way. Some don’t have release dates and the mere listing of a publisher doesn’t necessarily mean it’s commercial as some amateur freeware authors make up fake publisher names and put them in their games to make them seem more professional. It comes down to a coin toss on some of these. It sucks that so little reliable information about the early days of the genre exists.

Quest for Glory 4, I think?

Definitely. QfG 5 also, assuming it doesn’t stray too far from being a hybrid.

I found a few more myself as well. The following have been added to the original post:

Vampire Themed Adventures
Adventures of Jack Byteson: Duel with Dracula, The (Ita) (1986)
Bite of the Sorority Vampires (1988)
Castle of Terror (1984)
Dracula Island (1983)
Vampire Castle (1984)

Vampire Cameos
Zork 1: The Great Underground Empire (1980)
Acheton (1984)

Hybrid Adventure Games About Vampires
Sinister City: Vampire Adventure (2012) (HOG)

Hybrid Adventure Game Vampire Cameos
Gothmog’s Lair (1983) (RPG)
Heroes of Karn, The (1983) (RPG)
Quest for Glory 4: Shadows of Darkness (1993) (RPG)
Quest for Glory 5: Dragon Fire (1998) (RPG)

Hopefully all of these fit the criteria…

I was wondering whether or not that was a criteria, actually. The Horror of Rylvania is freeware now, but back when it was originally released it cost $20. There was a free demo you could play, but it only lasted to the point where you were bitten by a vampire, which happens very early in the game.

Vampire Cameo: Sam & Max 3x02: The Tomb of Sammun-Mak (2010) We get to see Jürgen as well as the one who turns him into a vampire, and help make his change happen.

There is indeed. I’d forgotten about the vampire running the Chinese shop. (Sorry! I’m not Advie Tongue )

Yes, I feel the same way. A great game - very adventurous. I’ve seen many sites list it as an adventure game.

Bloodlines was a great find for me and I will replay it soon.
