You know the drill.

1. When was the last time you moved?
2. How long did it take to unpack all your stuff?
3. Does where you are now feel like home yet?

1. 2003. I moved to the next street, away from my housemate.
2. A few weeks I think.
3. Oh yes, I felt at home from the moment I lived there. It’s nice to have your own place.

I’m lazy so I will repeat Squinky’s questions.

1. Does where you are now feel like home yet?
2. How long did it take to unpack all your stuff?
3. When was the last time you moved?

1. It feels more like home than any other place ever has.
2. About two weeks, though a few things took longer.
3. April 2009.

1. Would you like to up and move to another city/town/desert island at this point in your life, assuming you had the financial means?
2. Do you have a community you feel like you belong to? (The internet totally counts.)
3. What kind of community would you like to be part of that you aren’t already?

3. When was the last time you moved?

1.  Yes, and the mortgage is nearly paid off.
2.  It took about a month to get settled because we had to paint and build bookshelves.
3.  In March of 1987

2. Do you have a community you feel like you belong to? (The internet totally counts.)
3. What kind of community would you like to be part of that you aren’t already?

1.  I don’t think I’ll ever move again.  After 25 years of accumulating stuff, especially books, the thought of hauling it all somewhere else is too daunting.
2.  We are lucky to have great neighbors here who watch out for each other, and I’m very active with my Red Hat Society group.  I also treasure the friendships I’ve made at the game and craft sites I visit.
3.  I can’t think of any.

2.  What don’t you like about it?
3.  What could you do now to make it better?

1.  What do you like about where you’re living now?
2.  What don’t you like about it?
3.  What could you do now to make it better?

1. The space, the garden, the fact that everything is close by.
2. The upstairs neighbourette is a nuisance sometimes and I fear that that will be a lot worse in summer.
3. I haven’t been in my house for months so I don’t know what the exact situation is now, but if she still makes lots of noise and lets her cats shit in my garden she will certainly hear about it.

1. Do you cook for yourself daily?

1.  I usually eat the McNuggets with honey mustard sauce, but occasionally I’ve had the quarter pounder with cheese.
2.  If you mean the size of the portions, I order medium.
3.  Dunkin’ Donuts

No, the Red Hat Society is a bunch of old broads (over 50) who wear purple outfits with red hats and get together to have fun.  It started when a lady from California gave her friend a red fedora for her 50th birthday and a copy of the poem called Warning by Jenny Joseph, which explains the outrageous things she’ll do when she gets old.  The tradition spread from this group of friends in CA and there are now chapters world wide.  My group is called the Chatty Hatters because we mostly gab and eat.  We also go to the theater, have teas and picnics, visit museums, and do whatever else strikes our fancy.  The original red fedora, by the way, is now in the Smithsonian.

1. Double chocolate.
2. If it’s a nice restaurant, I’m more likely to. I feel like I’m going all out and splurging anyway, so why not? If it’s more of a takeout joint, though, or if none of the desserts appeal to me, then probably not.
3. It was probably something with a lot of chocolate in it.

1. What’s your favourite kind of chocolate?
2. What’s your favourite kind of cake?
3. What’s your favourite kind of pie?

An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

1. It’s a cake made from Jelena’s dog.
2. Both, of course.
3. I live in the Netherlands. Water galore, so I take the bees anytime.

1. For me, the clue is in the name; it’s a cake!
2. The one Mrs Degree isn’t hogging!
3. I would take my chances with the bear. Torn apart/mauled is slightly less terrible than bees crawling up your nose and in your mouth to sting you to death as apparently they sometimes do as well as attacking externally!

3. Have you ever cyberbullied?

1. My younger sister is a frequent user of Skype, and she lives on the other side of Sweden, so yes.
2 & 3. No.

For questions, see Intense Degree’s ones. That bring this thread back in order.

1. When was the last time you moved?
2. How long did it take to unpack all your stuff?
3. Does where you are now feel like home yet?

1. November 2010
2. Most things were unpacked within the first month. Some things took over six months.
3. It sure does! Didn’t take long, either, maybe about two weeks (which is more or less the time it took to get all the furniture set up).

2. Do you have a community you feel like you belong to? (The internet totally counts.)
3. What kind of community would you like to be part of that you aren’t already?

1. No, I’m fine where I am, thanks.
2. If you don’t count the closest circle of friends and family (which I assume everyone has), then this forum comes closest. What can I say? I’m an outsider.
3. None. I’m actually happy being an outsider… Tongue

1.  What do you like about where you’re living now?
2.  What don’t you like about it?
3.  What could you do now to make it better?

1. It’s a dead-end street, which means it’s quiet and kids can safely play outside. We also don’t have much of a backyard, which means less gardening maintenance.
2. There’s no grocery store within walking distance, and the closest butcher shop is a bad one. This means that shopping requires me to take the car out.
3. Finally oiling those two squeaky door hinges, opening up our attic for extra storage space, and getting some plants to brighten up the small backyard…

tsa - 20 May 2012 02:10 PM

1. Do you cook for yourself daily?
2. What do you eat regularly?
3. Do you like McDonald’s?

1. Almost daily. Let’s say about 6 times out of 7, with the missus taking the 1 time out of 7.
2. Lots of salads and wokked dishes. Since living together with the missus, I’ve been eating a lot more rice than potatoes, which is unusual in Belgium. I also miss my weekly Belgian (they’re ours, damnit!) fries.
3. I don’t like fast-food chains in general. Especially not since Belgium has a strong and long-standing “frituur” culture. A “frituur” is a sort of snack bar that mainly has Belgian fries and other deep-fried goodies. You can find one on practically any Belgian street. Some are mobile and little more than a sort of fish-and-chips stand, while others are almost restaurants. I’ll take the “frituur” over a fast-food chain any day.

1. Which is your favourite McDonald’s burger?
2. Which size of menu do you order at fast food restaurants?
3. Which is your favourite fast-food chain?

1. I’m not familiar enough with their burgers, so I couldn’t say. Probably the one with the most meat on it…
2. Usually the largest size (Super Size?), because I’m a big eater.
3. If I’m eating fast food, then I’d prefer it from a Belgian “frituur”, as stated earlier.

1 - If you were in the mood to eat a donut, what kind would you have?
2 - After dinner at a restaurant, do you usually order dessert?
3 - What is the most decadent dessert you’ve ever eaten?

1. The Belgian variety of the Berliner: a hole-less donut filled with vanilla cream, topped with powdered sugar.
2. Depends on whether or not there are plans to do anything afterwards. That makes it a “most of the time”.
3. There used to be an Italian Gelateria in Ostend (it sadly no longer exists) called “Salvatore”, where you could get the best damned bowls of ice cream you’d ever eaten. One of those - the largest - was called the “Coupe Mammouth”, which had a liquor-soaked donut at the bottom, lots of fruit in it, and at least 12 scoops of ice cream and a lot of whipped cream. It was just MASSIVE… and delicious to boot! Grin

1. What’s your favourite kind of chocolate?
2. What’s your favourite kind of cake?
3. What’s your favourite kind of pie?

1. Milk chocolate. Preferably with bits of hazelnut in it.
2. Apple cake.
3. I don’t have a favourite per se - there’s just too many great ones to pick from. Living in the world’s most food-centered country does have its advantages: unrivaled choice. Grin

1. How do you feel about summer?
2. Do any of the seasons make you sad and/or depressed?
3. Which part of the year do you like most?

1. As long as it’s not too hot, I’m all for it: more desserts get eaten in summer, and women wear shorter skirts…
2. Nah. Sadness and depression is just not my style.
3. Spring. Because these last several years, for some odd reason, we’ve had wonderful weather here during spring and lousy weather during summer. Plus it’s more fun to take a vacation in spring: it’s cheaper and there are less tourists…

Lucien21 - 29 May 2012 03:38 PM

1. Jaffa Cake- Is it a biscuit or a cake?
2. At the cinema. Which arm rest belongs to you?
3. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees?

1. I’d say it’s an undersized cake.
2. The one that has my drink in the cup holder.
3. I’ll take my chances with the bear. “Playing dead” won’t stop the bees, but it might stop the bear.

Yikes, the new forum allows a LOT less characters per post. I’ll have to split them up sooner if I make one of my mega-posts again…
