Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Tuesday 11 March 2014

I really need to get one of these cool season changing devices that crop up in adventure games now and then like the one in this scene from Starship Titanic (1998). The winter function would be permanently disabled though.

Anyway, as much as I love Douglas Adams (it’s his birthday today), I have to say this game fell a bit flat for me personally. The voice acting and humor is good but the actual gameplay is kind of weak. I also found most of the environments visually boring to explore and had to force my way through the game. I’d prefer to play his Infocom text adventures instead. It’s such a shame he died so young.

It was my first adventure game ever, and I still love it!

I keep hitting the escape button, but somehow I’m still here.
