Shrug Island - A hand-drawn adventure game
Shrug Island is a hand-drawn adventure game about hope in the mysterious, organic world of the Shrugs. It strives towards a feeling of the enthusiasm and wonder of being a child in nature, in an atmospheric digital experience. It’s the story of a group of friends seeking to find their places in an unpredictable family, and the seasonal reawakening of a powerful dream.
Bason on the existing world from an awarded animation short, and the research of 2 previous mini-games, Shrug Island is a large point + click adventure, currently in stage of alpha prototype. With the help of a Kickstarter, the developers will deliver the first of 4 chapters, each with average playtime of 60-90min.
The games features will involve:
story interactions through exploration and discovery
organic ambiance and watercolor art
localized 2D animated transformations
visual dialogue interfaces
dynamic sound puzzles

Hey! This is Kelly, another backer for Shrug Island interested in pushing the game over the edge of successful funding!
My friend over here has already explained the game’s premise/basics very well, and we really need your support right now. 1 DAY left but still a ways to go. The game has a beautiful hand-drawn art style, a lovely tribal musical score, and a peaceful and mystical ambient atmosphere. I, a backer who has little to gain from writing this but Shrug Island itself, am proof enough of the game’s potential to inspire others.

21.6K of 25K needed with 22 hours to go? I’d say it’s in the bag…
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Not if the backers don’t help play ball, so to speak.
There were a couple days where we got next to nothing on the site, and others where the totals were quite high. I figure the best thing I can do is help Amazu Media along. <3
They’ve…kind of gotten to be weird friends, over time. :}
