top storylines games?
i’m a huge mass effect fan and played all-most every adventure game back from the 90’s and i’ve reached that point in which i’m desperately trying to find a new game to keep me entertained. but one with an awesome storyline. maybe just name your own favorites 
Well if you want a great story you can’t go wrong with The Longest Journey and the sequel Dreamfall.
TLJ is from 1999, so you might already have played it, but Dreamfall from 2006 has an equal great story.
Otherwise i recommend you read the Top 100 Games here on the site. Many are from the 90’s but some are also newer.

Planescape Torment. Now, granted, it’s a RPG, but as far story goes the game is more of a interactive book. And a good one at that. You can get it from GOG.
