Need help finding old adventure game

Hello all,

I am looking for an old adventure game from the 90s. All i can remember is that there was a fountain into which one was to insert jewels in order to turn the fountain into a staircase which lead underground.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Could be Legend of Kyrandia. It had its share of jewel puzzles.

Could it be King’s Quest VII: The Princeless Bride?

I would think too that it is Kings Quest 7. I don’t think you had to go down any stairs in Kyrandia.  but, you didn’t put jewels in Kings Quest 7, you had to put other things.

Well, you do put jewels in in King’s Quest VII, but at another location and for another purpose. But it’s in the same chapter and very close by the pond from the screenshot above…

Do the screenshots ring any bells, zZzleepY?

Well, TimovieMan, I played the game with my parents, probably around the time of release (perhaps +1-2 years). As far as I remember the character was a woman in a dress, so I’m quite confident you have hit the mark. How was the stairwell unlocked in King’s Quest VII, if not with jewels, do you remember?

Come to think about it, it WAS by rearranging the beads on the statue’s necklace, so jewels WERE involved!

I first thought it was by combining items in the statue’s bowl and hand, but that was how you turned salt water into fresh water…

Ah okay. Well, that screenshot of the fountain and staircase convinced me anyway. There is no doubt, that’s the game. Thank you.
