The Swapper
Has anyone tried this new game? It looks like a puzzle game a la The Cave. Looking like a sci-fi Neverhood, the game models are constructed with claymation. Visually, it looks really unique. Reviews have been excellent (87 on Metacritic right now), but I honestly hadn’t heard of the game until it dropped on Steam. I look forward to hearing from people who have tried it.
Yeah played a bit , now in backlog , nice puzzles and the clone mechanic is cool, complimented by isolated atmosphere.
Worth a try, gameplay and experience wise better than Cave from what i have played, .
Hmmm, looks interesting. I may have to give this one a go.
Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.
beautiful and amazing.
one of the best games of the year so far without doubt.
up there with limbo and braid easily.
comparisons to the cave could not be more superficial and off the mark.

I concur. I’ve played The Swapper for a few hours, and it really is unique in its atmosphere and visual style. Some puzzles can get quite hairy, but so far, nothing impossible.
Intriguinig, at least. I have to give it a try.

Yes, I didn’t actually think it looked like the Cave, but I made the reference to try to keep people from giving me guff about putting this thread on the adventure side of the forum.
I look forward to giving it a try in the future, once I make a little dent in the current queue.
No gamepad support I presume?
no,
it really needs the mouse to work though, in the same way point and click adventure need the mouse.
so its less about lack of functionality, than more a design concious omission.
