Games I’ve found that are upbeat without being explicitly comedic:

The Kyrandia games - whimsical and chipper

Ah yes, except the third which turned into a comedy game.

Also Yoomurjak’s Ring is pretty serious without being too dark.

Nice, I forgot about Yoomurjak. Although I mentioned AGON which is by the same people. Good positive, optimistic games.

I’d say the Tex Murphy games fit the bill quite nicely. Overseer is actually quite somber but the two previous installments provide plenty of laughs alongside the solid crime/detective stories they tell.

Also, Ghost in the Sheet, an obscure but enjoyable indie, strikes a nice balance between first-person horror/mystery and humor (although it might be too comedic for your tastes).

The screens for Ghost in the Sheet look very gloomy and the topic looks dark which doesn’t bode well. But I suppose it can still be cheerful. I’ll take a look.

Thanks!  Laughing

I thought we could add Night of the Rabbit to this thread. Very cheerful and uplifting, while at the same time serious and weighty.
