I hope they will remake the games in chronological order. LSL 1 and 7 are the only games in the series I’ve played since the nineties, so I don’t really remember much of the others. I’m particularly looking forward to playing the remake of the second and third game. I’m not sure I think Love for Sail really needs a remake, but if they change up the puzzles and add content, like they’re doing with LSL1, I’m sure it would be awesome anyway.

Have I misunderstood that Replay currently only have the rights for remakes of the existing titles? So they can’t really make a Larry 4 or 8 at this point?

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

That was the case at one point, but no longer, I think. They’re developing an original casino game, and they’ve mentioned that there is some internal discussion/debate about whether or not to do a new game next, so I don’t think that would be the case if the rights were an issue.

If I recall right Trowe said something along the lines, that the possibility of a brand new Larry game would depend on if Codemasters would be happy with the remake and the direction it would take the franchice. I guess Codemasters is happy with the results.

Personally I’d be more interested in more remakes rather than a new game - yet anyway. I’ve never played Larry 2 and unless it gets a make-over I doubt I ever will.

I’m the exact opposite, I neither need nor want another remake, reimagining or whatever. If they continue with the remake route and head to Kickstarter once more for funding, I doubt I’ll chip in again.

I don’t think they plan to go back to Kickstarter again unless there’s no other way.

Which really, is how it should be. If you’re making money off these projects, then you should be investing back into your company.

Yeah, I didn’t chip in on this one and won’t chip in on a future Larry kickstarter either. But I will buy the game if it looks good.

Personally I feel the same way. I made an expection to that with inXile and Torment, but only because the original is my favourite game. But any other games they are cooking, I fully expect them to fund with the money they get from the sales of Wasteland 2 and Torment.

The main thing I need to be convinced of to support a Kickstarter is that the game wouldn’t get made or wouldn’t be as good without that support. I feel like with Torment the main question wasn’t whether or not they’d be able to make it but rather whether they could make it right now or next year, which isn’t as compelling of a cause.

But I understand that it’s much easier to overlook when we’re talking about your favorite game. Nostalgia is a weakness for everyone, it’s just a matter of tickling the right spot.

Right amount of nostalgia definetly helps. But luckily there’s not that much of that in sight right now, at least not for me.

Once Kickstarter launches in Japan, there’s going to be a whole new wave of nostalgic projects I want to see again, but for now it seems quiet.

Great news it’s coming out next month.
How is it going to be distributed to the backers? Download through the site and Steam code?

They said late May at the earliest. So it could be later, just depending on how things go. Anyway, I’ve been QUITE pleased with the Larry Reloaded project, and I am glad this is the game, out of all the big Kickstarter-funded adventures of last year, to be first out of the gate. Hope it does well. I’m sure it will. Go, Larry, go!! :-)
