Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Sunday 24 March 2013
Penguin Software’s Transylvania may not be the most notable game in the history of adventure gaming, but watching my father play it was my first contact with adventure games, and that werewolf in all its CGA glory used to scare the shit out of me, so I’m posting this scene today.
Recently finished: Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse (R) (4/5) | Detective Di (3.5/5) | Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (R) (4.5/5) | Heaven’s Vault (3/5) | Ace Attorney: Justice For All (R) (3.5/5) | Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (R) (4.5/5) | Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space (R) (4.5/5) | The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker (abandoned) (2/5) | Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (3.5/5) | The Sexy Brutale (R) (4/5)
Though I never played this particular game, that screenshot conjures up some memories. My first years of gaming was on a CGA monitor
Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.
