Are there any adventure games about environmental issues and/or impact, like climate change? Where the environmental aspect is the core of the game/story.

The two EcoQuest games focus on environmental issues, but they’re pretty old (early nineties) and targeted at children.

In Botanicula insects save their forest from evil parasites. 100% environmental adventure.

Not exactly climate change, but Firewatch involves forest fires in a pretty dramatic way.

Alpha Polaris, is about a time when an ion storm of the century happens, as much this is not the main topic of the game, but its the main cause of some savage human experiences from suicide and paranoia.

Although it is site-specific, rather than global in scope, Sinking Island deals with consequences of failing to deal with the environment. Of course there’s a murder mystery thrown in for good measure.

I would guess that there must be something somewhere. If you go through all 2000 AGS games, there’s probably something related to that. Nothing that immediately comes to mind though.

Something like this:

(I picked these based on themes, I don’t know if any games listed there meet your criteria.)
