Today we have a (murder) scene form Police Quest 2. According to the Top-100, it’s the best game in the series (though I wouldn’t know, not having played any).

Currently playing:
Recently finished: Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse (R) (4/5) | Detective Di (3.5/5) | Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (R) (4.5/5) | Heaven’s Vault (3/5) | Ace Attorney: Justice For All (R) (3.5/5) | Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (R) (4.5/5) | Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space (R) (4.5/5) | The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker (abandoned) (2/5) | Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (3.5/5) | The Sexy Brutale (R) (4/5)

I played this back in the day and quite enjoyed it.
Abandoned it halfway, though, because I had saved early, but not often. Frown
I remember diving in a lake (with a wetsuit and oxygen tank), and getting stuck in a crevice. That was probably my last action in the game… Tongue

Played the first hour of the SWAT game a few years later. Wasn’t impressed, despite the FMV. Didn’t play anything else in the series.

Now playing: Blade Runner (post-CPT) | The Witcher: Enhance Edition (on hold) | Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (on hold) | Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy (3DS)
Recently finished: Whispers of a Machine (CPT) - 4/5 | Beneath a Steel Sky (CPT) - 3/5 | 3 in Three - 3.5/5 | Puzzle Gallery: At the Carnival - 2.5/5 | The Fool’s Errand (replay) - 3.5/5 | The Dig (replay) - 4.5/5 | Return of the Obra Dinn (CPT) - 4/5 | Beavis and Butt-Head in Virtual Stupidity - 3.5/5 | League of Light: The Game (CCPT) - 3/5 | realMyst: Masterpiece Edition - 2.5/5 | Contradiction - 3/5 | Tex Murphy: Mean Streets - 2/5 | The Last Express - 3.5/5 | South Park: The Fractured But Whole - 4/5 | Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (replay, CPT) - 5/5

Awesome game. The PQ games were among the first adventures I ever played, so they have a special place in my heart.

I loved the first Police Quest, one of my favourite games from childhood. I played through it many, many times. Never got very far in any of the sequels though, and never tried any of the S.W.A.T games.

Would’ve been nice to see a Jim Walls kickstarter.

I’d only support a Jim Walls Kickstarter if he was co-designing the game with another game maker. I like the Police Quest games along with Blue Force but it’s a very different type of puzzle solving in those games that is more procedural than lateral thinking.

That kind of design has a tendency to be very dry if the writing isn’t good. That being said, I really enjoyed the first SWAT game and what they were going for with it even though it is essentially training practice for 2/3rds of the game.

Yeah, you have a point, and I think that’s why I liked the first best. Each game felt more procedural than the last (I may be wrong, fuzzy memories). Anyway, this reminded me to go replay the games. I bought the pq 1-4 collection on disc a couple years ago, but its just been sitting on the shelf so far Gasp

I grew up playing 1,2 and 3 and enjoyed them a lot. I played 4 as an adult, but I don’t think I ever finished it. I’d like to play them again one day…

The real problem with reality is the lack of background music.
