Something’s going on here. (Note: Site seems to be bogged down with all the traffic)

“…perhaps the ending has not yet been written.”

Why would it say this if it is just a rerelease? Sounds like a possible sequel to me.

I think the clue is “Paper Myst”

I think that’s just a play on “Paper Mate,” which is a company that manufactures pens and pencils. (I’m going to be really disappointed if this is just a 25th anniversary book.)

Could be that. But it could also have something to do with that Kickstarted game.

I’ve heard nothing official of late, but Cyan is on record (with us, in fact) that doing Myst in VR is a “no-brainer”.

If anything new is being done with the franchise, that’s the most likely project.

I’m pretty sure Cyan doesn’t have the resources to work on 2 games at once, so if this page implies to a new entry in the Myst series, could it have something to do with Firmament?

With the announcement of Firmament. It would make sense to release a VR Myst. I mean we have Myst, Myst: Masterpiece Edition, realMyst: Interactive 3D Edition, and realMyst: Masterpiece Edition.

Therefore, VRealMyst. To be followed years later by VRealMyst: Masterpiece Edition, hehe!

Joking aside I do love all things Myst and hope to see something exciting with the 25th Anniversary Smile

I believe the most recent, most free roaming and most near VR version of the Myst island was in URU, live. If I remember it correctly.
The masterpiece, Ipad and so on versions are merely updated original or realmyst editions.

If it really is a VR edition, then it’s the dumbest idea ever. Seriously, who is interested in wandering around islands of Myst in 2018? There are far better looking games out there now.

Maybe the idea was to make it look like those far better looking games out there now.

Me!  Thumbs Up  Though, Riven would be my first choice.
All of this is a moot point since my computer is so old I haven’t even been able to play Obduction. By the time I get anything resembling VR capacity, I’ll likely be too old to be able to figure out how use it.
