Trying to identify a game from my childhood

I remember very little about it, so here goes.

You played as a surfer with orange skin and green hair. While out surfing, he gets hit by a wave and wakes up on a spooky island in the middle of nowhere. I remember one of the first areas is a beach with skulls buried in the sand. I also think there was a surfing minigame to travel around the island, but I could be imagining it.

This was for PC. I’m not even sure of the name anymore, since I’ve never found anything about it, but I seem to remember it being called “Lagoon of Doom” or something like that. The name could just be entirely imagined though.

Does this ring any bells? I’d love to find it again. I originally bought it on a disc at a liquidation store.

Are you sure it was an adventure game for PC?
Because your description fits Greendog for the sega genesis almost perfectly (aside from the green hair). Take a look at this youtube video:

Do you have a time frame for the game? 1990’s, 00’s 80’s?

I played it in the early 00s, and I don’t believe it was a DOS game. I doubt it was a brand new game since it was at a liquidation store.
