Hidden Gems
I am currently looking for some hidden gems when it comes to any form of puzzle/adventure game. So if anyone has any text-based/point and click adventure games that they believe have been severely overlooked I am all ears well eyes 
Also if anyone has any platformer puzzle adventure games I’m all ears eg: the dizzy series.
An adventure that I often find don’t get enough praise is the delightfully bizarre The Neverhood, which seems to be known by a lot but only played by few - or maybe that has just been my experience? Anyway, it’s claymation, without any real dialog and has a fantastic sequel (Skullmonkeys) which is a 180 turn as the gameplay is switched up to be a platformer instead.
On an completely unrelated note; you rule! Grandia is my favorite game of all time

I’ve seen Neverhood reviewed online, I really do love the style and would love to play it but It’s one of the most expensive games I’ve searched for. So I’m eagerly anticipating its announcement on Gog.com
And ty it was my first ever rpg! I loved the child like innocense of it when I was a kid and still to this day! Also I haven’t came across a turn based battle system as badass as grandia’s since it (well at least from memory).

I’m really looking just for any games whatsoever I’m open minded. I started this thread for 2 reasons 1:for my own personal use 2:Because we have a lot of threads talking about the newest games and the greatest games. In which the same names crop up over and over so I thought what about those games that have been over looked.

Thank you for the reply but I was more looking for games that are off the beaten trail. So games that would very rarely appear in top 100s etc or would be advertised openly. But more games that were overlooked for various reason like there was another game released at the time that got all the attention etc.
A good example would be Tomba!/Tombi! (although not the right genre) Is a masterpiece of a game but was severely overlooked and is featured in barely any articles/top 10 lists that aren’t specifically about hidden gems.
Although thank you for the links I’m sure many other and I will put them to good use.

I agree, and I’d like to see more obscure games discussed. Problem is we don’t know what you’ve played so it’s hard to recommend anything.
Well since we have to start somewhere here are some of my favorite lesser-known adventures.
Dreamweb: 1994 classic, a dark thriller with a futuristic feel. Some pixel hunting but that shouldn’t bother a seasoned adventurer.
Inherit The Earth: Great overlooked epic adventure with charming animal characters and isometric graphics more reminiscent of an RPG.
Dark Side of the Moon: 90s Sci-fi first-person with FMV. I don’t know why this game isn’t more well known, it’s definitely one of the best of its kind and IMO better than either Mission Critical or RAMA.
Time Gate: Knight’s Chase: Same developer as Alone in the Dark but it’s a time-travel medieval game. There’s still some combat but less than AITD and it’s easier too and more puzzle/adventure-based.
Dragonsphere: Possibly the best fantasy adventure, darker than King’s Quest and in my opinion, better in most aspects.
RHEM: You asked for puzzle adventures and this series is among the best. No story to get in the way, just pure puzzling enjoyment. I like to think of it as a dungeon crawler without monsters.
Yoomurjak’s Ring: Fairly recent and probably more well known than the rest but it’s so good and so overlooked. A modern FMV epic, set in Hungary and featuring time-travelling.
Text adventures: Anchorhead and Curses are top notch if you haven’t played them, and if you’re more adventurous there’s Blue Chairs which is also really good.

i guess this Topic no way it can be for you only, WE ALL searching those Gems we Missed either they were Freewares or big production Games…
we adventurers are the same person after all, some would like 1st person other like 3rd’s some attracted to horror or Sci-Fi’s… etc
at the end we ALL search for the Gems of Adventure, and what you crave for are what we ALL crave for just the same.

1. The Journey Down - No need to talk about it, everybody knows it
2. Snakes Of Avalon - Tiny little masterpiece in every aspect. Love the music, the psycho-alcohol-delirium atmosphere where you don’t have a clue which is real and which is not, the subconscious level… Most of you know it so I won’t describe it much. It’s a must play.
3. Kafkamesto - It’s more like an interactive dream rather than an usual adventure, although the puzzles are there. Love it for it’s dreamy absurd atmosphere. If you like Kafka you’ll love it cause you’ll find lots of parallels to his works. And don’t get lost there
4. Gretel And Hansel 2 - first one was good but the second was the one that really impressed me. Longer, more sophisticated puzzles… I just love that dark atmosphere…
5. The Asylum: Psychiatry for Abused Cuddly Toys - This one I saw here on this website. It’s not an actual adventure, it feels more like a grow game, where the order of things you do is what matters. It’s the most adequate usage of psychoanalysis I’ve seen in a game. At first you may think that the only thing you do is messing around with the heads of the poor toys (seeing their dreams, injecting them with drugs and stuff) but if you go deeper you’ll see that each toy is suffering from an actual mental disorder and their reactions are quite connected to it… if you are not studying psychology or not using the textbook helper I find it very difficult to cure them all
6. Mental Repairs Inc - Not so gorgeous 3D graphics but behind it there’s a game with very unique idea and gameplay. You are a technician in a near future world where the machines have a subconscious and if there is problem with them you fix their mind instead of their particles. That gives the game two parallel worlds to explore where the solving of a puzzle is often connected to both of them. Love the idea and the “sidekick” of the protagonist who is something like a really smart phone.
7. Technobabylon - Haven’t played the second and the third but enjoyed the first one because of the same “parallel world” thing like in Mental Repairs. Great anti-utopic cyberpunk atmosphere too.
8. What Makes You Tick - Don’t like the protagonist, but enjoyed the graphics, the story, the monkey island reference… haven’t played the whole game so my opinion is not so relevant here
badlemon here had showed me some Gems Like Mental Repairs Inc that i would never recognized by my self alone
